Eric Auclair
Composer, musical director, producer, bassist, double bassist, drummer, percussionist and programmer
With a classical percussionist’s background, Eric Auclair switched instruments and started playing double bass professionally in Thüryn Von Pranke’s jazz trio. He was quickly playing with the greats of Quebec’s jazz scene (Michel Cusson, Yannick Rieu et Karen Young) and collaborating, on stage or in the studio, with many popular artists from Quebec and France (Daniel Bélanger, Pierre Lapointe, Paul Piché, Patricia Kaas et Diane Tell). Passionate about electronic music, he has explored sampling or created surprising fusions within all of his personal projects (Karen Young & Eric Auclair duo, Éric Auclair Trio and C:Be). He can be heard with VioleTT Pi (electrocore), Intakto (tango), Haïku (japanese music) and on many soundtracks for film and TV series.
